WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

The Context

Limited start-up capital and economic pressures can constrain women’s livelihood opportunities. WE-SING pairs tools for income generation with support for emotional wellbeing, building on participants’ own skills, interests and aspirations.

What We Did

  1. Trade-specific start-up kits

Provided livelihood kits for 100 women, covering activities such as tailoring, petty trading and food processing.

  2. Individual counselling

Provided specialised one-to-one counselling for 30 women in Borno State.

  3. Supportive group spaces

The report describes WE-SING psychosocial sessions where women found mutual encouragement and support.
